Vehicle destroyed during barn fire in town of Chenango

TOWN OF CHENANGO (WBNG) — Crews worked to put out flames after a small barn caught fire Wednesday evening in the town of Chenango.

The fire occurred at 146 Wilson Hill Rd. just before 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

Town of Chenango Fire Department Assistant Chief Adam Bowman says no one was injured and no animals or people were inside the barn. There was a vehicle inside the barn that Bowman says was destroyed in the fire.

A cause is currently unknown.

Fire departments from Chenango, Choconut Center, Chenango Bridge, East Main, Prospect Terrace, and Five Mile Point responded to the fire. New York State Police and Broome Volunteer Emergency Squad also responded.
