VESTAL (WBNG) — Binghamton baseball is just three weeks away from opening its 2018 season in Louisiana, and Friday’s weather allowed the team to have a rare January practice outside.
"This is really something," said Binghamton head coach Tim Sinicki. "January 26th. First day of official practice in accordance with the NCAA rules and to be outside in this facility is tremendous. We’re typically just planning on being inside until our first ball game."
"In my four years here, we’ve never had this opportunity with the weather, let alone a turf field like this," said Binghamton senior outfielder and U-E alum, CJ Krowiak. "Usually early year if we get a chance to get out, it’s out on the soccer field, or something. But to be out here this early is great."
Binghamton opens its season February 16 against Northwestern State University.
