Ponies fall below .500 with loss at Hartford

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) – The Hartford Yard Goats scored five runs in five innings on Binghamton Rumble Ponies starter Mickey Jannis Wednesday afternoon to beat the Ponies in front of a crowd of 6,528 at Dunkin Donuts Park, 7-3. Jannis took his first loss of the season for Binghamton in the defeat. The Rumble Ponies are now below .500 on the season with a 14-15 record. 

At the plate, Jeff McNeil continued his productive season, recording a double and two RBI. Peter Alonso collected his 26th RBI of the season in the loss. 

Tim Tebow did not start the game, but entered in the sixth inning as part of a double-switch and struck out in his only at-bat. 

Final score: Hartford (19-13) – 7, Binghamton (14-15) – 3

Binghamton continues its eight-game road trip in Portland on Thursday with a doubleheader. First game starts at 5 p.m.
