Three Bearcats earn America East first team all-conference

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) – Three Binghamton University softball players earned first team all-conference honors on Tuesday. Senior outfielder Jessica Rutherford, sophomore first baseman Kassidy Seary and sophomore designated player Rozlyn Price were named first team All-America East. Rutherford had an argument to be the conference’s player of the year, hitting .426 with two home runs and ten stolen bases, but Stony Brook’s Melissa Rahrich took home the award. 

First Team 

Jessica Rutherford (Senior) – Outfielder

Kassidy Seary (Sophomore) – First baseman

Rozlyn Price (Sophomore) – Designated player

Second Team

Kate Richard (Senior) – Third baseman

Rookie Team

Makayla Alvarez (Freshman) – Shortstop

Chelsea Howard (Freshman) – Pitcher

The Bearcats take on Maine in the first round of the America East tournament Wednesday at the Bearcats Sports Complex at 11 a.m.
