BINGHAMTON (WBNG) – Peter Alonso hit two home runs Tuesday night for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. His second of the game, a walk-off home run, sending the Ponies to their fifth straight victory. After the game, Alonso explained to Minor League Baseball that he was ready for dinner so he needed to end the game.
I was hungry and wanted to get some dinner hahaha https://t.co/QZ5qU5jEJ4

If food is the key, Alonso has been hungry all season long as he’s feasted on Eastern league pitchers. Alonso is in the top three in the league in home runs (11), RBI (33), batting average (.367), on-base percentage (.478) and on-base plus slugging percentage (1.173).
Alonso told 12 Sports Wednesday, Erie reliever Mark Ecker was not going to fool him again.
"He has a really good slider," said Rumble Ponies first baseman Peter Alonso. "He establishes the fastball, but the past couple of outings, he’s made me look stupid on the slider. So, I just sat slider that whole at-bat, and I got it. I just put a good swing on it. It was sick. It was really sick. It was fun, and we got the win in a very stylish way, so I’m really excited."
First pitch Wednesday night between the Ponies and SeaWolves is set for 6:35 p.m.
