Union-Endicott holds off Vestal in game one of championship series

ENDICOTT (WBNG) – The Union-Endicott Tigers held off a late rally from the Vestal Golden Bears Monday night at Union-Endicott High School in game one of the Section IV Class A Championship Series, 10-8. The Tigers led 10-1 after six innings before Vestal exploded for seven innings in the seventh. Union-Endicott managed to hold on and take a 1-0 series advantage in the best-of-three series.

Final Score: Union-Endicott – 10, Vestal – 8

"In a three-game series, no matter what happens, you want to get that first win," said Union-Endicott head coach Tim Harkness. "That was our goal and that’s what we accomplished. The first six innings were what we wanted. That last inning, was not, was not what we were looking for."

Game two is Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. at Vestal High School.
