BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — An escape room with a local twist set to test your mind will open on June 15.
People will be able to enter the Twilight Zone and go through the dimensions of vision, sound, and mind.
Xscapes is also building this Rod Serling themed escape room within the Southern Tier Independence Center.
It has taken six months of work with a team of about twenty people. You’ll be challenged with various puzzles designed around episodes of the Twilight Zone.
The Rod Serling Foundation came to Xscapes with the idea.
Bill Bartlow, Director of Development at Xscapes, spoke about the escape room.
"The Rod Serling Memorial Foundation called us and asked if we would be willing to build a Twilight Zone escape room, and we said sure absolutely if you can get the clearance from CBS we’ll be all over it," said Bartlow. "Thanks to the president of the foundation board and thanks to Anne who is Rod’s daughter, we got the authorization."
As it stands, it is currently the only authorized twilight escape room in the country, and it seems fitting for Binghamton to have it.
The escape room is set to open June 15.
