Tebow focused on process, not MLB call-up before first all-star game

TRENTON, N.J. (WBNG) — Tim Tebow and four of his Rumble Ponies teammates are at ARM & HAMMER Park for the 2018 Eastern League All-Star Game.

When 12 Sports asked Tebow if he wanted to compete in Tuesday night’s home run derby, he said he opted to spend the day with his family.

Tebow is getting set to play in his first All-Star Game at 7 p.m. in Trenton, New Jersey.

On Wednesday, he was out signing autograph and chatting with his fellow all-stars.

So does an All-Star appearance mean Tebow’s on the fast track to Flushing?

"I can’t worry about that," said Tebow. "I have to stay focused on the process and not the maybes, not the hypothetical, not the what ifs. I don’t think that’s a place that an athlete can live. I don’t think you can let your mind go into places like that. I think you have to be so focused on each day and every day."

Tebow is batting ninth for the Eastern Division as the designated hitter.

12 Sports Director Larry Burneal will have a recap of the Eastern League All-Star Game tonight on 12 News at 11.
