Nolan Arenado’s brother fuels Flying Squirrels past Rumble Ponies

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) – Jonah Arenado, the brother of Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan, fueled the Flying Squirrels with two extra base hits, including a home run Wednesday night to top the Binghamton Rumble Ponies in Richmond, 5-1. Arenado went two-for-three with two runs scored and two RBI in the victory.

Richmond scored the first run of the game in the first inning. Tomas Nido’s sacrifice fly in the third tied the game at one for Binghamton. The Flying Squirrels took the lead in the fourth and scored the final four runs of the game. 

Binghamton managed just four hits in the game. Joey Terdoslavich reached base three times with a double and two walks. 

Final score: Richmond (54-59) – 5, Binghamton (54-61) – 1

Binghamton and Richmond play the rubber game of its three-game series Thursday night in Richmond at 6:35 p.m.
