BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — Nearly 300 Columbian Financial Group employees spent their work day volunteering within the community.
Employees were given the option to choose from various team assignments and projects. Some of the organizations the company supported were CHOW (Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse), VINES (Volunteers Improving Neighborhood Environments), and the the Fenton Free Library.
"It’s a great opportunity to give back to the community. Our employees are super generous throughout the year on various projects that we do. This is an opportunity for us to actually get out and use our hands to help organizations that need some help," Michael Fosbury, President and CEO of Columbian Financial Group, said.
Fosbury said this is the first year the company has held an event like this, but hopes to continue it annually from now on.
