VESTAL (WBNG) — The countdown is on. The Binghamton men’s basketball season tips off in less than two weeks and this year’s version of the Bearcats will look much different. There are eight new players on the men’s basketball team ranging from graduate transfer Chancellor Barnard from Loyola University Maryland to junior college transfer Richard Caldwell Jr. to walk-on freshman from Seton Catholic Leo Gallagher. Head coach Tommy Dempsey says expects this team to get up and down the floor quicker than any other team he’s had in his seven seasons at Binghamton.
“This will be the fastest, most athletic, team we’ve had,” said Binghamton head coach Tommy Dempsey. “We put up a lot of points on Saturday. I think that’s something you can expect to see. We’ve really focused on it. I think we have the personnel to do it and it should lead to some exciting basketball.”
Bearcats open their season against Cornell at home on Tuesday, November 6 at 8 p.m.
