Children’s carnival kicks off Halloween

APALACHIN (WBNG) — Ahead of Halloween, the Waterman Conservation Center in Apalachin pulled out all the stops for its children’s carnival on Sunday.

Activities included spooky mini golf, a fortune teller, and a trick-or-treat trail.

The big event, however, had an all-ages costumes contest.

“My favorite part is this is supposed to be pajamas, but we just used it for a dog so I’m warm,” said Hunter Cherry, dressed as the dog from ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas.’

Other festivities included pumpkin painting, a bean bag toss and bowling.
