Body of missing man last seen in Irondequoit found in Oneonta ravine

ONEONTA, N.Y. (WBNG) — State police say a man last seen in Monroe County was found dead in a ravine, just days after his vehicle was found.

Troopers say the body of 53-year-old Steven Kassirer was found in the ravine just off Oneida Street around 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

Earlier in the week, Kassirer’s vehicle was found in a the parking lot of the Safelite store on Oneida Street.

Troopers say the body was located within heavy brush.

Kassirer had been last seen by his family in Irondequoit on October 20. He had also been reported missing in Massachusetts when he did not report to his job on October 23.

State police say it is not known why he was in the Oneonta area.

The manner of death is not known pending autopsy results, but troopers say no foul play was suspected.
