Binghamton survives University of Charleston for Ord’s first win

VESTAL (WBNG) — Leading by four with two minutes to play, Rebecca Carmody hit Carly Boland on a back-door cut that Boland finished while being fouled for a three-point play, extending Binghamton’s lead to seven and shutting the door on Division-II University of Charleston upset attempt, 69-62. It was head coach Bethann Shapiro Ord’s first victory at the helm for the Binghamton women’s basketball team.

Carmody came off the bench to lead all scorers with 16 points. Binghamton native Olivia Ramil scored 10 points in her first career start for the Bearcats.

Karlee Krchnavi grabbed ten rebounds in the victory for Binghamton.

Final Score: Binghamton (1-0) – 69, Charleston – 62

Binghamton is back at home Friday, November 9 inside the Events Center against Cornell. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
