(WBNG) — New York State Police say a local woman withdrew funds belonging to a 75-year-old Alzheimer’s patient right out from under his nose.
State police say the attorney of the man alerted him to the suspicious withdrawals from his bank account over a period of several months.
51-year-old Marianne Stanislawski, of Chenango, is accused of making those cash withdrawals that the man did not approve of.
According to troopers, Stanislawski knew the man for several years and would visit him weekly to help him run errands.
Stanislawski was arrested and arraigned in the town of Oxford Court and released on her own recognizance. She is charged with third-degree grand larceny, a class D felony.
Stanislawski is to appear in court at a later date. An order of protection was issued by the judge to protect the victim.
