ALBANY, N.Y. (WBNG) — The Southern Tier is getting a slice of the $262 million set aside for bridge and culvert projects in New York State.
Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Tuesday the Southern Tier will receive $32.94 million for projects in the region.
The money will go toward 15 bridge projects and 12 culvert projects, according to the governor’s office.
The awards are part of the BRIDGE NY initiative, aimed at repairing bridges and culverts across New York to make them more structurally sound and flood-resistant, among other goals.
The statewide funding announced Tuesday will go toward 165 projects in 95 communities.
