OWEGO (WBNG) — People across the southern tier are taking part in giving Tuesday.
That includes local businessman Adam Weitsman, who is the general manager of Upstate Shredding.
His company donated $10,000 to the Tioga County Boys and Girls Club on Tuesday.
The funds were also matched by an anonymous grant, making it a grand total of $20,000 for the Boys and Girls club.
It’s one way Weitsman wants to give back to the local community around the holidays.
“Coming from Owego and born and raised here, we think it’s really important,” says Weitsman. “The Boys and Girls club has always been at a special place for our family and our company. So when they came and said they were doing a big fundraising drive to help the operations there, we wanted to definitely play our part.”
Upstate Shredding has been family owned by the Weitsman family for three generations, all of which have supported the Boys and Girls club.
