First night of Ivory Christmas on Gorgeous Washington Street fills downtown with Christmas carols

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — The first night of Ivory Christmas on Washington Street kicked off Thursday night.

The street was lit up in Christmas lights and lined with pianos as musicians filled the air with holiday music.

Many Washington Street businesses were set up to take part in the holiday cheer.

A mild crowd braved the cold to come sing along.

“It was fun to be able to just be outside this time of year and all the lights and the decorations and just get in the Christmas spirit,” says Laura Brown of Conklin.

This is the second year Gorgeous Washington Street hosted Ivory Christmas.

While last year it only lasted one night, it’s been extended to two nights this year, with one more night Friday at 5 p.m.
