Discovery Center prepares to open ‘Pet Vet’ exhibit

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — A new exhibit coming to the Discovery Center in Binghamton will teach children how to care for furry friends.

It’s called “Pet Vet” and it will let kids play as a veterinarian.

To promote the exhibit, the Discovery Center teamed up with the Broome County Humane Society this week.

Wednesday, the organization brought in birds. Thursday it was all about kittens and on Friday, dogs will be coming in to play.

“Well it teaches them responsibility. It teaches them care and kindness, Discovery Center Director of Exhibits and Special Event Cheryl Dutko said, “for not only animals but human beings also. And animals have their own way of communicating, but humans can’t always understand that.”

The Discovery Center says it plans on opening the exhibit in late January.
