BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — Jon Jones posed the question on every MMA fan’s mind on Monday, “Who do I fight next?” Jones defeated Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232 for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship on Saturday and now seems eager to get back in the octagon again.
Jones quote tweeted a tweet from longtime rival Daniel Cormier saying, “Hush now my boy, The question is who do I fight next?”
A third fight against Cormier is a possibility. Cormier is the current UFC Heavyweight Champion but it’s unclear if he wants another fight against Jones. If they did complete the trilogy, the match could be at heavyweight or light heavyweight.
Anthony Smith is a popular name to compete against Jones for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. He is ranked third in the division by the UFC, but according to Jones, Smith wants to wait until July and Jones has catching up to do.
This man is trying to wait until July, I got some catching up to do. https://t.co/eUQ68uCMQY
