OWEGO (WBNG) — The Owego Apalachin Central School District is hoping to make major renovations in its schools.
Some of its goals are to improve health and safety, creating new learning spaces and to enhance programs for students.
The project would renovate spaces in the Apalachin Elementary, Owego Free Academy and Owego Middle School.
The superintendent says this would have no additional tax impact to community members, as funds were set aside to help with the cost of the nearly $25 million project.
“We want our students to have several opportunities programmatically,” said Superintendent of Owego Schools Corey Green. “It’s important to prepare them for an evolving economy that’s out there that surrounds robotics, automation, artificial intelligence.”
On January 22 people will be able to cast their vote on the project at the Apalachin Elementary or Owego Free Academy between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m.
