Nathan Bastian makes NHL debut with Devils

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) – Binghamton Devils forward, Nathan Bastian, made his NHL in the New Jersey Devils loss to the Anaheim Ducks. Bastian played 9:32 and got in his first NHL fight.

Bastian has 15 points (10 goals, five assists) and a plus-10 rating over 43 games for Binghamton this season. Bastian was the 41st overall selection for the Devils back in the 2016 NHL draft.

The Devils also recalled Kurtis Gabriel but he was not in the lineup for Saturday’s game. 12 Sports spoke with Bastian on Thursday after B-Devils practice about his goal to get to the NHL.

“That is the dream obviously to get to go play in the NHL,” said New Jersey Devils forward Nathan Bastian. “Just like playing here together, it would be even cooler to make the jump together and we are enjoying ourselves here but like you said the idea is to get to the NHL so that would be awesome.”
