Local workers brave the cold despite super low temperatures

VESTAL (WBNG) — While many of us stay inside during this extremely cold weather, some are forced to go outside for work.

Repairmen at Triple City Towing spend their days outside doing everything from towing cars to replacing batteries.

But Owner Jim Wheelock says, “We can handle this cold just fine.”

He says his staff’s safety is always a top priority, but when it comes to the cold, they’re experts.

They make sure to pack on the layers, stay dry and take breaks when needed.

For customers like Anthony Fasulo, their work is appreciated.

He says, “It helps a lot because it’s our only car, we need to get it to the shop so we can get it fixed so my wife can get to work.”

While employees will take the thanks, to them, they’re just doing their job.

“When you’re passionate about the work that you’re doing, it really doesn’t matter if it’s freezing cold or blistering hot, you just get it done,” said employee Tim Parke.

So these workers, won’t be calling out anytime soon.

“As long as our trucks are running, which they are, we’re happy and we dress warm and we have no problem going out in this weather,” said Wheelock.
