One injured in two-car crash on Taft Ave Saturday afternoon

3:52 P.M. UPDATE

UNION CENTER (WBNG) — Multiple agencies responded to a two-car crash in Union Center Saturday afternoon.

The Union Center Fire Department says it was dispatched around 2:08 p.m. to a report of a two-car crash at 1285 Taft Ave.

The fire department says when it arrived on the scene, both vehicles were on fire and one injured person was being assisted by EMS.

According to the fire department, the injured individual was taken to a nearby hospital.

According to authorities, the crash occurred when one vehicle crossed into the other lane and caused a head-on collision.  Both vehicles are totaled.

In addition to the Union Center Fire Department, Union Center Ambulance, the New York State Police, and a Broome County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the incident.
