BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — The Broome County Humane Society received an extra special donation Saturday.
Elementary school student and animal lover Anna Harrison-Ayers took it upon herself to raise money for local animals in need.
The 8-year-old made Valentine’s Day wreaths and sold raffle tickets for the craft at her local Dunkin’ Donuts.
The fundraiser raised nearly $200, all of which she donated to the society in Binghamton.
Explaining why she decided to do the good deed, she said, “I love the animals, like any animal really.”
She also asked people to purchase items at a local grocery store that she could donate to the society. This included cat and dog food and pet cleaning supplies.
