Pappas ready to make her mark with BU softball

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) –  Sophia Pappas joins the Binghamton softball team as a freshman after dominating at Susquehanna Valley last season. The Sabers were the class B champions.

Pappas finished her career with a record of 72-15, a 0.88 ERA and 1,028 strikeouts and head coach Michelle Johnston is excited to have the freshman on her roster.

“We have been kinda working with a couple things with Soph,” said Binghamton softball coach Michelle Johnston. “We really expect that she is going to add some good depth to the staff that we have and I think she will be getting some time out there.”

The BU softball team will begin its season on Friday with a doubleheader in Northridge California against CSU Bakersfield as part of the CSUN Early Bird Classic.
