Jason Garnar to play in JC’s basketball fundraiser

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — Broome County Executive Jason Garnar will be the honorary captain and play in the 9th annual Athletes 2 Athletes (A2A) staff basketball game fundraiser at Johnson City High School on Thursday, February 28 at 5:30 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Jackson Vandermark, a four year old in need of a heart transplant. His father Jay is a Johnson City Police Officer. Money will also be donated to a Johnson City parent who is currently fighting breast cancer.

Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students and children under five are free.

A2A is run by 29 high school students with the help of two teachers. Over the years, the organization has raised more than $50 thousand dollars.
