HILLCREST (WBNG) — The Hillcrest community gathered for its 8th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade Saturday afternoon.
Community members of all ages lined the streets as they cheered on the drums, police, firefighters, and floats that passed by.
One of the attendees at the parade, Brenda Yaples, said spending time with family was her favorite part.
“Oh I love it, as much time I can spend with my grand kids, the happier I am, so when they told me they were coming, I had to tag along,” she said.
The event collects donations of packaged socks and underwear to give to ‘Us for Kids,’ an organization that serves under privileged children in our area.
