St. Baldrick’s Foundation raises more than $35,000 for childhood cancer research

NORWICH (WBNG) — The St. Baldrick’s Foundation raised more than $35,000 during its 15th Annual Norwich St. Baldrick’s Foundation Event to support childhood cancer research.

According to the foundation, Saturday night’s event at the American Legion broke last year’s record of $33,575.

Nearly 30 volunteers shaved their heads, 10 of which were females, including several young adults.

The “shavees” volunteer to raise money and get their heads shaved to stand in solidarity with children who have cancer.

The foundation says that over $368,000 has been raised for children’s cancer research since donations began in 2005.

Donations to the event are still being accepted, for more information click here.
