JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) — Bikers of all ages had the chance to get their bikes tuned up just in time for the warm weather Sunday at Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church.
Volunteers from the Southern Tier Bicycle Club Inc. donated their time and their tools to help out riders in our area.
Anyone could stop by with their bike to get it checked out at no cost.
“We figured the first Sunday in April when kids get their bikes out, not a bad time to be around and get them in running order,” said bike mechanic August Mueller.
The church will continue to host bike repair days once a month. The next event is on May 14.
Bike Day is also coming up on May 11. This is when hundreds of bikes and helmets are given out for free to the public.
