Update: No one injured in fire at Raymond Corporation in Greene

UPDATE 9:45 P.M.

GREENE, N.Y. (WBNG) — Greene fire officials say there were no injuries at a fire at Raymond Corporation in Greene.

They say a welding smoke sucker caught fire. They say the one unit problem caused a small fire inside the facility. Smoke could seen for a good distance from the building as a result.

There were people inside the building at the time of the fire, but no one was injured.

As of 9:30 p.m. people were told they could go back into the building.

The cause of why there was an issue with the smoke sucker is under investigation.

The Greene Fire Department, Oxford Fire Department, Coventry Volunteer Fire Company, and the Chenango County Fire Coordinator all responded to the scene.

GREENE, N.Y. (WBNG) — According to Greene Fire Department officials, crews are battling a fire at Raymond Corporation in Greene.

Fire officials say as of 9:00 p.m. the fire was under control. They said the call for the fire came in about 25 minutes earlier. Officials also said smoke could be seen for a good distance from the business.

Fire officials said they do not know at this time if there are any injuries.
