VICTORIA, British Columbia (WBNG) — Firefighters in Victoria, British Columbia were needed for a unique rescue over the weekend.
Members of the Victoria Firefighters IAFF Local 730 assisted the British Columbia Conservation Officer Service and Victoria Police Department with the lowering of a tranquilized cougar from a tree. It was then taken to the Conservation Service for further evaluation.
The fire department published a video of the rescue on its Facebook page. In the most recent update, firefighters wrote:
“Update from the Conservation Service, the young Cougar is in good health and will be relocated to the wild. Great outcome all around!”
