Ponies even series against RubberDucks

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — In his season debut, Mickey Jannis would toss seven scoreless innings to help the Ponies get by the Akron RubberDucks, 1-0.

Jannis took down the first nine batters he faced, and coaxed 14 ground ball outs to earn the win. This marked Jannis’ twenty-second career victory, moving into a tie for third place all-time in the franchise.

The Rumble Ponies offense would do just enough, getting on board in the second inning after a Braxton Lee RBI single, for the only run of the game.

Ryder Ryan pitched a perfect eighth inning, while Matt Blackham earned his second save of the season.

Final score:

Rumble Ponies – 1 (11-8), RubberDucks – 0 (12-13)

The Rumble Ponies wrap up the series against the RubberDucks Wednesday night before heading to Portland on Thursday. First pitch is 6:35 p.m.
