APALACHIN, N.Y. (WBNG) — The latest on the investigation into the murder of an Apalachin man.
New York State Police say 32-year-old Brian Argro was murdered during a home invasion at 5 Dorothy Road in Apalachin early Thursday.
In a Friday afternoon news conference, Troop C Captain Scott Heggelke said 40 year-old Curtis Cuttino and 46-year-old Michael McVicker entered Argro’s home and fatally shot him.
Both suspects ran off, but were tracked down by police using descriptions given by the 20-year-old woman who called 911.
Police say the woman is an acquaintance of Argro and was inside the home at the time of the crime. She was not hurt.
Capt. Heggelke said Cuttino was taken into custody shortly after the shooting, but McVicker got on a bus for Monitcello. He was taken into custody by state police in that region. Both men have been charged with second-degree murder.
According to Heggelke, Cuttino and McVicker are both from the York, Pennsylvania area.
Heggelke said the motive is unclear and investigators are looking into what brought the men to this area.
Both have been jailed without bail.
Friday’s news conference was streamed live on the WBNG 12 News Facebook page and can be viewed below.
