Man gets a decade in prison for Susquehanna St. shooting

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — A Brooklyn man who pleaded guilty in a shooting that happened last Easter in Binghamton was sentenced Tuesday in Broome County Court.

Authorities said Travon Sanders, now 24, used a 9 mm handgun to shoot a man several times outside of the Yellow Deli on Susquehanna Street, leaving the victim with serious injuries.

Sanders pleaded guilty in March to attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

He was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in state prison with five years of post-release supervision.
