HARPURSVILLE (WBNG) — Broome County leaders announced on Tuesday the reopening of county parks for the season.
“We have long winters up here in Broome County so we have to take advantage of this warm beautiful weather when we have it,” said Elizabeth Woidt, Broome County Director of Parks, Recreation & Youth Services.
She was joined with Broome County Executive Jason Garnar for the announcement as well.
You can experience acres of hiking trails, sports fields and more for free. Swimming is also free, unless you want to rent canoes, kayaks or paddle boats.
“You can pretty much do anything out in the parks,” said Woidt.
Annual events such as Broome Bands Together and Spiedie Fest look to make for an exciting summer. New this year is a 20 foot screen for movie nights in the park.
You can check out the unique features each park has to offer, along with reserving campsites here.
