TOWN OF MAINE (WBNG) — The Greater Binghamton Airport will host the 3rd annual Sunset Runway 5K on Thursday, July 18.
This 5K provides a unique experience for participants to walk or run on a USA Track and Field-certified 5K course, encompassing Runway 16/34 and Runway 10/28.
The run will also take place in the evening, giving participants the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular sunset over Broome County.
Registration for the Sunset Runway 5k will be held in the Hangar II Chamberlin room at 6 p.m. on July 18, and the race will begin either at 7:30 or 8 p.m., sunset depending.
The race includes a registration fee of 20$ and early registration participants will receive a Sunset Runway 5K t-shirt, running bib, one free beverage and official timing. Registration closes at midnight on July 11.
If you can’t make the early registration, the opportunity to register on race day is available for a $25 fee with the same race bib, free beverage and official timing, as well as the Sunset Runway 5K T-Shirt, while supplies last.
Last year’s race, the 2018 Sunset Runway 5K, saw around 170 participants of walkers, runners, and children in strollers.
Along with the unique race and stunning view, this year’s race will also include fun, music, and a food and beer tent for those hungry runners and spectators.
A portion of the proceeds collected will go to the Twin Tiers Honor Flight.
