Katie Jones joined the 12 News team in June 2019 as a Multimedia Journalist. A recent graduate of the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College, Katie earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a minor in Politics. Prior to joining full time, Katie was an intern with WBNG in her last semester of college.
Katie worked on the Ithaca College Television Station (ICTV) as an investigative reporter and morning news anchor. There, she covered stories throughout Ithaca and the Finger Lakes region. Outside of school, Katie gained reporting experience by interning with ABC7 KGO-TV in San Francisco and NBC KCRA3 in Sacramento, California. She also worked as a documentary production intern for Fox News Channel in New York City. She produced two feature-length documentaries during her time with Fox. More recently, Katie was an associate producer for a PBS network documentary titled, “With Infinite Hope: MLK and the Civil Rights Movement.”
When Katie is not at the station, she loves to travel, discover new restaurants, and catch up on the latest Netflix shows. Katie has lived in both Houston, Texas and San Francisco, California. She is very excited to be in Upstate New York and join the Southern Tier community!
