Chenango SPCA holds month of free adoptions

NORWICH (WBNG) — Through the month of June, the Chenango SPCA is waiving the adoption fee for dogs and cats who are spayed and neutered.

The no-kill shelter is over maximum capacity, with 130 cats, and 14 dogs. They hope free adoptions will alleviate the amount of animals they have to care for.

“We just keep finding room. We put dogs in crates in the hallway, we put cats in crates anywhere we can find room, so we manage, but it’s hard,” said Executive Director of the Chenango SPCA, Annette Clarke.

The shelter says anyone interested in adopting will have to first complete an application before taking the animal home.

If you would like to adopt a forever friend, you can find the application on their website.
