NYSEG Stadium hosts high level baseball tryouts for kids

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — The Under Armour Baseball Factory National Team held tryouts at NYSEG stadium on Sunday giving kids in the area a chance to go to the big leagues!

This round of tryouts was one of over 150 that happened across the country.

Coaches for the National Team evaluated over 50 local players to see their skill levels as compared with other baseball players their age in the U.S.

Dave Packer, the Vice President of Business Development said, “The general idea initially is to get an evaluation to see where they fit, not relative to here, but relative to across the country, so that is who they are being compared with. Once the evaluation is done the families are going to call in to go over the reports and from there that is where we will make recommendations to different player development opportunities.”

Packer says the tryouts gives local kids a shot at higher level competitive baseball.

The tryouts at NYSEG stadium wrapped up at 4 p.m.
