Owego Mayor and Board of Trustee members make a splash at pool opening

OWEGO, N.Y. (WBNG) — After making necessary renovations that lasted into the summer, the Marvin Park Pool in Owego officially opened for the season!

To commemorate the pool opening, Owego Mayor Mike Baratta and Owego Board of Trustee members made the “first splash” in the pool.

Officials say that the opening of the pool was delayed until July because of a vandalism incident over the winter, which caused a need for repairs to be made.

Several children were at the pool for its opening, including Alyssa Rice, from Nichols, N.Y., who said she was “very excited, because then everyone has the chance to swim.”

The Marvin Park Pool will be open every day for the season from 12 to 8 p.m., with the last hour of operation being adult-only.
