The Broome County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed there have been no injuries reported as a result of the crash and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

12:50 P.M. UPDATE:
State officials say the right lane and shoulder blocked until further notice. The left lane has reopened.
BROOME COUNTY (WBNG) — The New York State Department of Transportation says a tractor-trailer fire has closed a section of Interstate 81 southbound in Broome County.
According to the DOT, all lanes are blocked to traffic between Exit 8 to Whitney Point and Exit 7 to Castle Creek.
A detour is currently sending traffic to U.S. Route 11.
DOT employees and other emergency workers are on the scene.
