ENDICOTT (WBNG) — The list of golfers competing in the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open continues to get better. World Hall of Fame golfer Davis Love III will be joining the field.
Love is a twenty-one-time PGA Tour Champion, a six-time Ryder Cup champion, and a two-time Ryder Cup captain. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2017. John Karedes says there’s a reason so many big names want to join the tournament.
“It’s a testament to Anthony Chapman and his staff, the golf course has made a reputation for itself,” said Karedes. Tournament wise, community wise, these people want to come here. They want to play here, and look, they talk among each other in the locker room, and I know that there are players who say you can’t miss Endicott, you can’t miss the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open, come and play it. And we’re so excited to have Davis come joining us.”
The Dick’s Open tees off Friday, August 16.
