Convicted kidnapper, rapist pleads guilty to cutting off ankle bracelet

SKANEATELES, N.Y. (WBNG/WTVH) – Christopher Block, convicted kidnapper and rapist has pleaded guilty to cutting off his ankle bracelet and will return to prison.

Block cut his parole ankle bracelet off on July 11 in Skaneateles which set off a search for him by local law enforcement.

After a 35 hour search, Block was caught when officials found him asleep in the woods near the Skaneateles Country Club.

According to his criminal records, Block has served 34 years of a 50 year prison sentence for kidnapping, rape, sexual abuse, burglary and criminal possession of a weapon.

He had been released on parole in December of 2018 after being denied release five times.

Block remains in custody of the Onondaga County Sheriff until a written decision on his plea is issued.
