BINGHAMTON (WBNG) – We’re painting the park pink Wednesday at NYSEG Stadium!
Survivors, caregivers, and the Rumble Ponies are gearing up in pink to kick off the 2019 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer season.
The Rumble Ponies will be wearing their pink team jerseys, and they are inviting spectators to come to the game in pink as well.
The pink game leads up to the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5k walk, raising money and awareness for breast cancer in October.
Heather Brewster of the American Cancer Society said, “we are painting the park pink with them tomorrow. We’re going to have some tables so that you can lean more about the walk.”
Brewster said that the pink team jerseys worn by the Rumble Ponies at the game are going to be auctioned off.
The money raised goes toward the American Cancer Society’s funding of breast cancer research, patient support and community education.
The 5k walk will be taking place on October 20th at Recreation Park.
