BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — NYSEG Stadium held its “Paint the Park Pink” night as a kick-off for the 24th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event.
At Wednesday’s Rumble Ponies game, fans as well as the Ponies themselves were dressed in pink.
It’s all to create an environment for breast cancer survivors and their supporters to come together to enjoy a night at the ball park.
The event serves as the start of the making strides against breast cancer season, culminating with October’s breast cancer walk.
They’re hoping to get thousands involved from a highly supportive community.
“Our community gets behind Making Strides Against Breast Cancer something like I’ve never seen,” says Heather Brewster, American Cancer Society Senior Community Development Manager. “So we are extremely grateful for the support we have from our community.”
The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk takes place October 20 in Recreation Park.
