ENDWELL (WBNG) — The Broome County Office for Aging is on track to raising hundreds of dollars for their senior games all through tonight’s Spaghetti dinner.
Many community members came out for a dinner including spaghetti, meatballs, salad and dessert for just $8.
The money raised from entry tickets is all going to fund this summer’s Broome County Senior Games.
It’s a friendly competition for seniors of favorite activities such as golf, bowling and shuffleboard.
Officials say they’ll be using the funds raised to secure venues and prizes for the games and thank the community for helping them do so.
“We have a wonderful turn-out tonight, more than expected actually,” says Sofia Rittenhouse of the Office of Aging. “So I look out and I see every seat filled which is really encouraging because we are getting wonderful community support. So I’m hoping it’s going to be a very successful event.”
The senior games start next week and runs through September.
If you’re 55 and up, and interested in joining, you’re urged to call the Broome County Office for Aging to register.
