Saint Mary’s Bazaar kicks off a weekend of Italian heritage

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — After much planning and anticipation, Saint Mary of the Assumption’s Bazaar officially began Friday evening.

Just around the block from Saint Mary’s Church was a packed festival, celebrating Italian heritage while honoring Mother Mary.

It wouldn’t be an Italian festival without food options like home made meatballs, tripe and an entire Italian cafe.

Plenty of games, music and a basket raffle offer something for everyone.

None of it would be possible without loyal volunteers and returning community members.

“It’s going great,” says Renee Cramer, one of the festival coordinators. “We have a ton of volunteers who take their time out and come and help us and make this bazaar possible. People come from all over to come back.”

The festival continues all weekend long, concluding on Sunday with a procession after church celebrating the feast of the assumption.
