Forecast Discussion:

A few showers will linger into the overnight under variably cloudy to clear skies. Lows will be in the upper 50s to mid 60s.

There have a been a few changes to the forecast the balance of the week into the weekend. A pattern to the winds in the upper level called ‘zonal flow’ will develop and set up through the northern part of the US. This essentially means there are no big ridges of high pressure, or troughs of low pressure, to dominate, or drive, our weather. Instead, in this wind flow regime, tiny disturbances tend to develop and move through from time to time. Coupled with the warm summer weather these disturbances bring unorganized, and very difficult to time out and pinpoint, rain showers and some thunder. We expect this pattern to last through the weekend. As such the change in the forecast is to introduce at least a slight, or better, chance of a few showers in spots to days that were forecast to be dry. Wednesday has a 20% chance of a few isolated showers, and perhaps a storm. The chance of rain is 30% Thursday, 40% Friday and 30% chance each weekend day. No day in the next 7, including this weekend, is expected to bring an all day long rainfall.

As far as temperatures, they remain seasonable through Friday, but begin to increase a bit into the weekend. Highs through Friday will be in the 70s to near 80 with lows in the 50s to low 60s.

Saturday and Sunday highs will be around 80. Next Monday the unsettled pattern persists with a 30% chance of some showers or storms. Highs stay near 81. Next Tuesday looks to bring some sun with highs near 82.
