BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — The Broome County Humane Society hosted a “Clear the Shelter” event in an effort to get as many animals as possible moved into their forever homes on Saturday.
“The more we can put through out system, we get them up to date on the health information, get them the shots, get them spayed and neutered, get them re-homed. As soon as they’re gone, more animals are filling their sports, so if we can keep the cycle going of getting them in and getting them out in a decent amount of time, we get them re-homed,” said Executive Director of the Broome County Humane Society, Karen Matson.
The organization also offered reduced adoption fees, with the hopes of getting about 20 animals adopted in one day.
